EXPANDED MATTER is a creative studio based in Madrid. We focus on art direction, graphic design and set design. Our practice is dedicated to communicating an idea or concept through both visual and experiential narratives.
The studio is co-founded by Ana Olmedo and Elena Águila, architects and Fine Arts graduates from the European University of Madrid and MPhil in Media Practice from the AA School of Architecture in London. We are currently professors in the Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia at the European University of Madrid and in the Master's Degree in Interior Design at the European Institute of Design.
We work on commercial projects with both local and international clients, developing brand identities, editorial design, illustrations or set design. But also in collaborative and self-initiated projects that allow us to experiment with the limits of design.
